Sister Circles – Rural Women Support Networks
Project Overview
The Sister Circles program is an active, community-based initiative that establishes peer-led support and savings groups for rural women. Through structured networking and collaborative learning, we create sustainable platforms where women can connect, share resources, and collectively build stronger, more resilient communities.
Active Sister Circles: 10 womens’ groups currently participating
Ongoing Programs: Monthly workshops and rotating leadership training
Financial Support: Operational shared savings fund and emergency assistance model
Community Leadership Development
- Monthly educational workshops facilitated by group members
- Rotating leadership roles that build confidence and organizational skills
- Peer-to-peer learning on topics ranging from financial literacy to health education
Economic Empowerment
- Shared savings fund managed collectively by group members
- Emergency support system providing immediate assistance during crises
- Financial literacy training and micro-savings guidance
Social Support Network
- Safe spaces for women to share experiences and challenges
- Community-based problem-solving and mutual aid
